This vision, given to us throughout the last year, was inspired by:

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your path.”

Also in Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

The primary focus of Different Ministry is our recovery program.  It is important that we continue to share Made New Recovery, helping as many people as possible find freedom from addiction though Christ and the principles of His Word.

We have already implemented the Made New Recovery program in correctional facilities and have seen the inmate’s hunger and desire to want to change their lives. There has been a positive response as they see differences in themselves and their life through principles taught in our program.

Concerns that have been brought to our attention have made us redirect our vision, to aid in a way where other ministries have fallen short – a structured support system for inmates after they are released.  We went to the drawing board and created a revised vision for Different Ministry and a new direction for Made New Recovery. 

1–3 year vision

In the next 1-3 years, we will move forward establishing Made New Recovery throughout central Wisconsin, offering hope through Christ to members of the community, within the correctional facilities, and also structured support for inmates as they are released into these communities.  Our focus will begin in Lincoln, Tayler, Marathon, Portage, Wood, and Clark counties.

          Next, we will build a transition facility that will be available to inmates desiring to walk their new path for God, but feel they would face obstacles upon their release.  Whether it’s the community, people or environment they would return to that was a participating factor of their incarceration, or they face being homeless, they will have a place that will help guide them in strengthening their faith, identifying and beginning the path God has planned for them.  It begins with pairing them with a church family and helping them form relationships with like-minded believers that will build them up and not help them fall into their old ways.  They will also learn to create a routine of devotions, Bible studies, recovery program, and to build a firm foundation in their new relationship with God.

We also will assist with life and job skills as simple as household responsibilities and finishing their education, if needed. In addition, they will receive assistance finding a job and ultimately a new home and healthy lifestyle, aiding them in following a God-honoring path and becoming a productive part of society.  

3-7 year vision

Once this is accomplished and functional, we will take the central Wisconsin template and plant that in other regions around Wisconsin. Offering the hope though Jesus state-wide.

Long-term vision

Different Ministry’s long-term vision is to implement this template nation-wide.

This is a huge commitment and vision, but there is an obvious need and very few ministries are taking on the challenge. We plan to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, do what others are not, and reach the masses in His name.  With this mission and your partnership, the reward will be a great and powerful example to the world of what God’s love and our surrender to that love can accomplish.
